NC Blow-offs

I'm giving serious consideration to trading my NB on a NC. However I am becoming alarmed at the number of reports (...on this site) about roofs coming off (...both retractable as well as soft tops) on the new model. Also there appears to be reports that bonnets also let go...

...does ANYONE have any FACTUAL information about this problem?

I'd be asking this type of question over at the big forum.

you'd probably have a much bigger audience.

...Yes, that's an interesting point... as my darling wife keeps saying, I should make AJ an offer regarding a swap for the cars, as she is kinda partial to most things black...(truth is, I doubt if he can afford the number plate ...let alone the car).

...But the idea of the roof, bonnet and doors coming off (...at speed) is a bit of a worry..... ..Not that I would drive a NC drive fast. Then again neither does AJ.

Darbs.... You'll never drive it fast enough to worry about such trivial things....... (I see a theme here)

Bit of a warped poll isn't it?

You can vote YES/NO without first hand knowledge of these \"things\" happening.

From experience I find it hard to see how the top could come undone if you latch it correctly.
There hasn't been a recall to fix the latches like there was on the 2003 NBs, so Mazda don't think there's a problem.
I've never heard of the bonnet coming up and I've tested mine at 200kph down Phillip Island's main straight. It has a secondary catch like any other car built after 1984 to comply with ADRs anyway. And the doors..

Personally I think it’s just a lot of uninformed gossip fuelled by overactive minds.

Actually I think it's a dangling worm to get a few bites from the NC brigade. :P

Makes a welcome change from dangling things in front of the SP boys.

I dont think anything has actually fallen off my car. Lots of stuff has broken or come loose but it all managed to stay in one piece. :P
