Poll: On Topic/Off Topic

Hi All,
I'm not sure if I am crossing the line here. Maybe I will get in trouble

but what the hey!
I love the forum for both its on topic and off topic banter. Why restrict?
I think the forum should be a place where all MX5 enthusiasts can talk mechanical, performance enchancement, models etc as well as being a place were friends who have met/caught up through the club can have the odd chat and exchange some witty banter.
The great thing about the forum is that I can always log on to ask any questions regarding my MX5 but along the way I can have a laugh and a chat with other enthusiats at the same time. It adds to the fun.
A dash of spice is always nice.
Make your poll vote now.

If it's a Poll, where is the choice of questions?

Hello Pot, this is the kettle calling.
( I always thought AJ 'was' a grumpy old man, oh well, I guess it takes one to know one! )

Did a miss a forum or two?
Was there a thread that discussed a restrictions on what we can chat about?
Or is this the creation of the 'Off Topic' area?

Well I put myself out there and successfully succseeded in getting the piss taken out of myself.
For all and sundry:
1. First time I have ever created a poll so must have made a mistake and excluded the part where people can vote. Oops
2. Missed the bit on the forum about what we can and can not say. Aka: \"Rules\".
*Bad Mandy shouts rules were made to be broken*
3. Just used to love the fun chat on the forum which did not always revolve around car parts etc. The info available is great but what is the harm in having a laugh along the way.
Are we Commies or something?
Shake it Up Babes. Variety is the SPICE OF LIFE!

Trouble is that once people see that boundaries are being pushed then they get pushed even further, untill we're all typin l1ke tiz n t1s 4um wil b ta 5h1zz1t!!!!!!111111one1one!!!one11!
I don't mind the odd thread being locked or deleted, I think we get quite a good amount of head room when it comes to heated debates

where forum members are actually discussing something. I'm happy to trade a bit of the BS and funny stuff for that.
And Mandi, variety IS the spice of life!! Why don't you join 10 different forums and chat to them too?
*I don't actually want you to be a forum wh0re, please stay!*
My 2c,
Boags

Hi,
No we are not commies or something?
Rules are in the first message in MX5 General Chat, pretty simple if they are followed? If not, you can expect to hear from one of the mods.
This is a public family forum and there can be kids on here at any time so we keep our language to ourselves mostly!
We are probably one of the best forums around and rules are aimed at keeping it that way.
If you want a forum that is all signatures and very little chat that means much I'd go and start looking, and good luck

I just watched this clip and I can't see a problem with it at all..... If anything it was hilarious!
This is certainly the kind of clip that should be seen over and over again. Steve was fricken awesome and this is a perfect example of how cool he was. Just like the footage of him with Rove on Rove's show.... totally awesome. I'd certainly like to hear an explanation of why this link was removed. We wouldn't remove a video clip of Peter Brock driving around Bathurst... would we?!?!

Mandi, its a sensible question.
I am happy with the way it all works at present - different section for OTs etc. Moderators generally strike a nice balance & are not too autocratic. I'm pretty open minded but I wouldn't want a Forum full of bad language, crude innuendo and fractured English.
As for it being a \"family\" Forum, I am not sure why kids would be trolling around on it - I would have thought it was an \"adult\" Forum.
For me the key words are 'fun' & 'respect'.

Sorry members, I didn't see the clip/link/post so I can't comment.
