Brother! Hope you're enjoying your time home.
Sorry I haven't gotten around to coming down and picking the few leftovers up, I've been super busy with a short-staffed team at work.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Hyperactivity set in yesterday so I fast tracked a pair of speaker boxes (painted by midnight-job done)- all I gotta do now is restore the speakers (cone surrounds on Fleabay)... They're MDF bases and fronts with fiberglass shells - I didn't have anything to mold the shells with so I overinflated an old rider mower tyre tube, wrapped it with glad wrap and took a mold off it...
Don't look too at em too close - I'm not into concourse..
The best part is the improvement in sound (door speakers just can't cut it) - it's bloody magic - gonna fit NA8 door trim tops so I can fit the tweeters..

Cleaned my wheels, first time since I bought it. Took most of a bottle of Meguiar's wheel cleaner, looks much nicer though. Never really realised just what colour they were supposed to be.

Although I can't justify the $20 a bottle on Meguiars hot rims wheel cleaner, there is a significant difference between your before and after photos.
Nowadays, I have given up using the hot rims spray cleaner and have resorted to Simple Green/Orange on a warm sponge for the same results at a much less exorbitant price!
Well worth keeping in mind for the future

I had $14 left on an SCA gift card :p Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. They probably won't get cleaned again for another year.

I use that $2 export degreaser and a tooth brush on mine, seems to move most of the dirt.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Degreaser works ok, but it doesn't shift brake dust as good as a dedicated wheel cleaner. If you want an excellent strong wheel cleaner try poorboys spray and rinse, but keep it away from polished bare alloy as it's quite acidic and will dull it . A good safe cleaner is iron X.

Replaced both rubber gearshift boots and the nylon bush. Also put some oil in the tunnel. Not sure it has improved anything, but makes me feel better for having done it!

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
New side skirts and rear mudflaps arrived in the mail this afternoon (Thanks CrapW). Need to get the front lip respray and then get the rest fitted. Can't wait for the new look. Rota RB wheels then exhaust mods to follow.
