Actually I took a look at it first thing this morning because the photo depicts the vacuum line going over the exhaust manifold, which is one of the hottest parts of the engine. It's more apparent in the pic than in real life, but I don't want any "meltdown" issues, so I re-routed it to follow the BOV pipework.
It's shorter now by about 25cms, but there was no noticeable difference in the test drive today. I don't know if the length makes any difference (...maybe on a dyno?)....[
