Howdy Hi,
That's a much longer line for the T piece than I have. Mine connects to the actuator line 100mm before the entry into the BOV, and leads across the front of the engine to keep it the shortest possible length.
How have others done it? ... am I missing out on RWKW by having a short line?
Regards

Actually I took a look at it first thing this morning because the photo depicts the vacuum line going over the exhaust manifold, which is one of the hottest parts of the engine. It's more apparent in the pic than in real life, but I don't want any "meltdown" issues, so I re-routed it to follow the BOV pipework.
It's shorter now by about 25cms, but there was no noticeable difference in the test drive today. I don't know if the length makes any difference (...maybe on a dyno?)....[ I'm sure somebody will misinterpret that comment]. If anything I think the shorter length will provide a more responsive boost, but I would think we're talking milliseconds here. I doubt if it would affect RWKWs. But the experts should know the answer to this.
(BTW... I've seen the missing cam-cover stud - )
...anyway, I think I've strayed this conversation waaaaaay off-topic. So I'd better butt out, or start a new thread.
Cheers.

Hi Rob,
Mine was run the same way you have described yours, but it was done by Lachlan Riddle at Chiptorque at the same time he reprogrammed the ECU for better driveability/economy/power. This means it has all been done properly, but at many times the cost of the typical $2.50 outlay. This also means you can drive it as you like without having to worry about the prevailing weather conditions.

Richard,
Silverwater Auto Service (SAS Auto?) in Silverwater (duh!) are/were agents for Chiptorque and can do this work as well on their dyno. I didn't use them as Lachlan has worked on my cars before and the guy I spoke to on the telephone (hopefully not the guy who actually does the work) rubbed me the wrong way telling a few porkies about the SP. I think these guys forget that us enthusiasts know more about the development of these cars then they sometimes realise
Definitely worth the trip up to the Gold Coast.

Seems like Lachlan is the man.
Damn it. Now I have to drive all the way to the Gold Coast.
Do you have any idea how far that is out of the Shire???

Yes, Just far enough
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

When I bought my first SP, the silver one, the salesman (Kim Beezley of Southport Mazda) got quite excited because the key tag had #100 handwritten on it. Of course it could have just been Kim's little joke with me as the air-box number was something less than 100 (...as witnessed by a few GC Dodgy Brothers). So after all this time I've never been sure... but at my age you expect a little confusion now and then. However, I did get to talk with Alan Horsley once who ASSURED me "...the SPs were not built in any specific build-number order" so even if you had the official number "100" there's nothing to prove it was the last of the issue. Of course, Alan could have been having a little joke with me too.
...I've never bothered to look for Snow White's number (...but I might tomorrow morning)? BTW... if Snow White happens to have an airbox #100 then the above can be considered official bulldust.

Does anyone know if the guy who bought the Ice Blue SP still owns it?
I did hear a rumour a while ago that he was selling?

That's Tezza... he'll be lurking around here somewhere. I saw him on a GC event the other week in the "Crystal Blue" SP.
With regards to non-listed SPs there's a few more that are missing from the list that I know of:
- - a certain supreme blue with an odd looking blue fabric roof
- the SP in WA that was stolen and burnt
- the silver SP that is reported to be sitting in a shed somewhere near Newcastle
- a really quick black SP (that might have been sold by now)
- the other White SP
- the Crystal Blue (Jules' unicorn)
I'm sure there's more out there.

Crystal Blue. Yes he still has it, AND will part with it for an undisclosed premium fee.

Re: SP Owners - New List
Others Sp's that i know of not listed here:
I service another untidy Grace Green from Eaglemont.
I service two high(160k). one Black and another silver, (Both ex club members)
There is a red SP in Doncaster.
Silver SP in Geelong.
Silver SP in Brighton. (That i just discovered)
Black SP belonging to one of the Motorsport lads that sometimes see some track action.
Know of a very tidy 20klm Silver that was sold to the NSW coast somewhere
Plus 2 other black ones that may be listed on here that are club members.
