Extracted nearly 30 years worth of I don't want to know what out of my seats.

Replaced fluids, belts, spark plugs, most seals and radiator/heater hoses.

Serviced the gear turret, replacing the insulation and lower gear boot. Installed a short shifter kit and a voodoo style spherical gear knob.

Swapped one of the horns for an after-market type. The sound of which is reminiscent of a 1970’s era family six cylinder sedan. The aural mix of this horn and the other one is horrible and super distracting - just what I want.

Installed generic $50 Chinese double din touch screen head unit. The previous stereo wasn’t working when I bought the car. Am impressed with the sound from the NB speakers.

Not much to do now except drive!

Finally fitted my front lip. I’ve only had it for a few years & don’t like to rush things. Image

Today I fitted my dual tip corns exhaust. It took a fair bit of manipulation to get it to fit, & I’ve still got to go to Mr. Muffler & get a couple of hangers changed. It knocks going around roundabouts. ImageImage

What have you done today/recently to your 5?

Postby StanTheMan » Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:40 am

Changed a broken sump over. I knew I had a broken sump. I was still shocked to find these massive bits in it . So then a lot more than expected had to come off to insure no other bits were in the crank case. ImageImage

Every time I see up Gina's skirt I have to sit down for a little bit! Glad to see some progress.

Good work everyone. This weekend I swore a lot and finally got my car started again! She's not down on the ground yet, but this was a big relief!

What did you learn? Did you run the relays from the accessory 12v?
