I wouldn't think putting on new sticky tyres would change the cars balance. Sure there would be more grip, so the understeer would happen at higher cornering speeds. On a wet skid pan, or loose gravel, a good balanced car doesn't suddenly get horrible understeer because there is no grip.

But if you're looking at a solution, knowing what we know, you 'd have to start with tyres and alignment surely?

Of course u start with the basics as suggested by many.
But why don't u supercharge it and convert it to 4wd to fix it.....

Had another track day at Pheasant Wood on Monday.
New Federal RSRRs on the front, lightly used two year old RSRRs on the back.
New camber adjustable upper control arm bushes.
Wound as much castor in as the factory alignment would allow.
Studiously avoided taking it for a professional alignment, mostly to annoy people who love numbers... :D

MUCH better.

Car is balanced, predictable and WAAAAAAAAYYY better to drive. Didn't keep careful track of lap times, but the short answer is mid 65 second laps before the brake pedal gets soft.

Interestingly, early in the day, the pyrometer was suggesting that it had too much negative camber, but later in the day is was saying the camber was just right. Probably needs a proper aligmnment!

Lots of obvious things to do from here to make it faster, but the NC is doing exactly what it was bought to do - be fun, reliable and easy to live with.
