Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Did my first mods today, removed the stupid sub visors. I fold mine open when I drive so I can see ahead and ended up smacking myself in the eye socket by accident.
Next was installing the CG-locks on the seat belts. Was almost late to get the tyres put on the patrol I was having so much fun. :-)
Cheers
Greg

Installed my Project G quarter windows and did the maintenance (eg new window bushes, cleaned and regreased window tracks etc) on power windows so they are running smoothly and quickly now.

Picked it up from the shippers.
Reinforced why I bought it, what fun.
Should have been more thorough checking it though cos the drivers window which was down wont go up and there is a small tear in the roof which wasn't there when I shipped it. I am planning on changing the soft top for the one I bought for the NA though so no real drama.

Beautiful!

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Pulled the drivers door spart last night and found a broken pulley on the slide with cables attached.
Window is very stiff mostly fromthe old grease I think.
Ive ordered a new slide from the us which should be here before the end of the year. In the mean time I should just be grateful that the window is stiff enough to stay up on its own so I can drive it.
Any suggestions on how to make it work or get a substitute for the broken pulley will of course be gratefully accepted.

I’m not sure if it’s what you’re after, but check out the post from Rolley on window guide bushes.

Often one of the ends of the metal cable pull-off causing the window to not stay up. Happened to both sides of my old NA6, but pulleys were ok, so removed broken cable & jammed window in up position until I installed a new cable.

Rather than take over this thread I'll post a separate picture of the offending broken piece in the body work section. Can keep you posted as it gets fixed.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Made some new vortex generators

New rear pads - previous set was installed on 23/07. Since then have done quite a few laps on various tracks, including WTAC and few general practices on the National. These tracks are very hard on the brakes. I'm more than happy with how long they last and rotor wear.
Rotor wear
RL 0.65 RR 0.63
Pad wear (combined. a new set of pads is about 24mm)
RL 10.76 RR 10.40

Did an oil change

Remove more 'stuff' from the rear, including difusser...

Careful Mark, these won't just improve your lap times but may very well put you in another dimension

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Need boost to do that... will find out Thursday PM. Will also be running 225/45/15’s as well. Need to weight the car soon and set a new baseline. Have taken a bit of weight out of the rear recently.
New wing design now requires the front downforce to be reconsidered, so plans for that are in the pipeline. It will never end...
