Re: Most recent/favourite pictures of your car
Why bother with roof top boxes in our cars. Not worth the hassle. Just drive the other car if you need to transport something.
I also don't understand why people put those big fibreglass boxes on top of their supercars. It's just a trendy oddity, done for attention.

For driving holidays for two people (or even one). MX5 boot isn't big enough and I don't like storing stuff behind the seats. And I don't want to take my Falcon as it is not fun to drive (but it is excellent on straight roads). My Celica was an excellent driving holiday car. I haven't found anything to match it in that role. Perhaps I should get another one.

Yep! ST162 5 speed, advanced ignition, 95 RON, ported, exhaust, springs, dampers and K-Mac rear bar (plus the 86 model front bar, which was thicker than 87+). I miss it.
(Should I mention cornering at 170 on the Snowy Mountains Hwy or averaging over 130 from Casino to Grafton? Probably not, but it was the 90s.)

Laughs in 'stock' MX5
No but seriously I came 2nd in the 2WD class. Got absolutely stomped by several WRX's for outright position.

AWD in dirt can be imense fun.
the steering and reaction & theory gets thrown out the window. once you you understand the different steering principle. its so satisfying because they are so controllable.
Thtas not to say you cant have fun in a RWD.
Job well done

brake upgrades with braided lines, dba t3 and t2 rotors, and hawk hp pads. Friend was nice enough to lend me his flat driveway so I could raise the suspension a little in preperation of a Tassie roadtrip in January.

Yes Mark, no 1.5 available any more. 135 kw goes well. Will give you a drive soon!

Re: Most recent/favourite pictures of your car
Here's a couple of the most recent pictures of the ol' red thing, I took these photos the day before I sold back in Novemberish 2020 it & the new owner picked it up 3 days later. Kinda miss it a lil bit.....
the New/older car keeps me busy on the tools atleast.

10 day road trip around tassie done and dusted. mix of camping and air b&bs. Crammed all of my supplies and spare parts into my car and was fully self suffecient. I did however have a couple of friends along for the ride in their own fun cars. Did a touch over 2000km and drove every road worth driving.

Beautiful, and that sounds like an excellent trip. I would love to drive the MX-5 around Tassie. It's just a long way to get to and from starting in Brisbane
