On to ignore list for you. Seems you have nothing to add to the forums.

Re: How many people r going to buy the new model ND
G'day everyone - long time lurker, first time poster.
I've been looking to get an ND ever since it was first announced, and recently got rid of my 1-series beemer to make room for it. I've dríven the 1.5L, and I like it a lot, but was holding out for the 2.0L to drive before I make up my mind. But they seem to be hard to get a hold of, as no dealer appears to have one for me to drive (I'm in Sydney).
So I made a decision to just go for it - walked into a dealer today, asked about the 2.0L. Conversation went something like this:
Me: "I'm interested in the 2.0L MX"'
SalesP: "Yeah, we don't have any in stock"
Me: "Figured that would be the case. How long till I can get one?"
SalesP: "You can't, as I said, we don't have any in stock"
Me: "Err... I can't put money down for the car? I thought that's how it would work?"
SalesP: "You'd have to wait till August"
Me: "Ok, that's longer than I thought. Can we discuss more options on me getting the car?"
SalesP: "You can't get it, as I said, we don't have it in stock"
Me: "....."
So yeah, that was my day. Can anyone of you fine folk recommend a dealer in Sydney that I could talk to about the ND, and actually would want to take my money?
Cheers!

Sydney?
Blue Mountains Mazda, MX5 club of NSW sponsor and I believe they have sold more ND's than almost any other dealer in Australia!

They also should have at least one 2.0L version for you to test drive too.....

+1 for Blue Mountains Mazda. Cameron and Andrew are both genuine Mazda enthusiasts and love their MX-5s. Straight talkers and will give you all the support you expect.

Yep, Blue Mountains Mazda. Not only are Cameron and Andrew committed MX5 enthusiasts that are fair and generous to their customers, you get to take a proper test drive on "made for MX5" mountain side roads such as Megalong Valley. Phone and ask if they have a 2.0L demonstrator available. Bet they do.

Mr Morlock wrote:I noted a comment from a buyer a post or two ago that the new ND was a bit noisy for a trip to Sydney from Melbourne- hardly seems like a recommendation.
That would have been me. I probably only found the car a bit noisy because I came from a 1-series BMW with all its sound insulation etc.
One observation I would make is that although the wind and engine noise was fine, the tyre noise is quite loud and intrusive on the coarse chip sort of road surfaces that we seem to have all too often on non-urban roads in this country.

Yeh, I don't like the wraparound rear glass on the Goodwin one which is similar to the previous model hardtops.
I think the soft top sized rear window makes it look better especially in side profile.

Thanks - looks like everyone's recommendation is Blue Mountains Mazda. I'll give them a buzz and see how things go. Cheers.

The wraparound rear glass improves rear vision significantly, even if you don't like it aesthetically.
