I think that I have read stuff from this person before! (They had a different Username).
Greg.

lol, no idea what you are on about.

If you are admin, check the user details between these 'people' and get rocked.

But I do agree that it's only a car. You can take it or leave it. If you desperately want it, then pay for it.

Not even the same nationality lol. You spend too much time here if you remember nicknames and start thinking two users are the same one.

Go back and re-read the comment. I didn't say i didn't like it. I said I didn't like the previous ones and that the new one is a lot better.
Rockjob.

That's car sales talk for $39999

As the great Darryl Kerrigan once said: "Tell him he's dreaming!"
Brand new drive away price in NSW is around $42k. If he is asking for $39,999 i'd laugh until the cows came home. Who buys a ex-demo for less than 10% off the RRP price? You can bargain that easily off a new price (I already have twice and walked out because I don't settle for less than 15% off).
I'm not a fan of the Mazda car dealers, too cocky on price, which is fine, for that kind of money, i'll walk out and get something interesting.

Actually, I said this:
"Anyone looking for a demo 1.5L Roadster GT manual in Blue Reflex with 4,500kms available immediately for a number starting with a 3?"

I would have thought that would leave a decent negotiating margin some someone who's actually looking for a car as opposed to just wanting to price bash it.

As it happens, I'd agree with a few of the comments about pricing, although not with ones about 10-20% discounts being available as those merely demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of dealer margins.

And I too would only join in negotiations with someone who is ready willing and able to proceed if we can agree a deal, not with someone who is 6-18 months away from placing an order.

Prices from the brokers I already have (From $44,287 driveaway NSW - as estimated on mazda.com.au):
#1: $40,874 driveaway NSW (June delivery, factory order) -8.4%
#2: $39,862 driveaway NSW (June delivery, factory order) -10%

Not sure about VIC dealers, but when NSW dealers say they can't move on the price, it's a load of BS.

The latest addition to the MX-5 family fully embodies the model's 26-year-old tradition of "lots of fun". While staying true to the original MX-5 Retractable Hardtop's goal of making open-top driving more accessible, Mazda has broken the bounds of conventional thinking to create something entirely new.

The MX-5 RF features fastback styling with a smooth roofline that slopes down to the rear end, and its unique rear roof and retractable back window offer a new open-air feeling. The power roof can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 10 km/h with the press of a button, and the roof is stowed compactly and efficiently in a limited space. Despite its fastback styling and hardtop roof, the MX-5 RF offers the same amount of trunk space as the soft-top model.

The model will feature either the SKYACTIV-G 1.5 or SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine, depending on the market. The North American model will have the SKYACTIV-G 2.0.

The MX-5 RF will on display at the New York International Auto Show which opens to the public from March 25 through April 3.

Picked up my new 1.5 ND manual roadster with MZD over the Easter weekend and drove it back along the coast road (Gippsland, NSW south coast) from Mornington to Sydney over the long weekend. Great car and a lot of fun, although possibly a little bit noisy for a long road trip like that.

Thanks Dave - always good to send some business to a fellow MX-5 enthusiast, particularly when they pick you up from the train station in a mad (or is that barmy?) NB SE track car!

My pleasure. One going to Tasmania next week and another to Sydney the week after.

The Blue Reflex demo is now sold. Next demo will be a white 2.0 GT manual. It can be pre-ordered for July/August collection with an agreed maximum of 3-4,000kms.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Yes, I saw that, and the roll bar that goes under it. Things are happening fast for the ND.

If the "like" is for the tiny hardtop then I reckon it's very ordinary. It actually resembles the NC with top up or an MGA hardtop so its hardly an innovation. The one that Mazda are intending for the ND in 12 mths or so is another thing altogether- style and panache. I still think the car is far too small and impractical to be taken seriously but it's selling so Mazda must be pleased at this stage. I noted a comment from a buyer a post or two ago that the new ND was a bit noisy for a trip to Sydney from Melbourne- hardly seems like a recommendation.

Yeah innovation. haha

Yet you own a MX5 that is too small and impractical for anything other than its design purpose.

Yeah cos it is designed as a cruiser/grand tourer. And Mazda failed cos instead it is very noisey like a convertible roadster. Shame on MAzda. What a fail.
