I believe it wasn't factory fitted but added later by the dealer....perhaps using a non factory product???

It's a Mazda factory supplied accessory fitted at the dealership by the dealer. It can't be ordered pre-installed during the build of the car as Mazda don't fit them at the factory on the MX-5. Hard to understand why they don't offer a better integrated one.

PRR had some good points to raise and he did it well. I reckon it's pretty woosy getting into a twitch about such a trifling issue as the design of a small camera that few would ever notice.

Are our local NDs being delivered with a jack?

Thanks Dave, now I will get a tyre repair kit when my new ND arrives as I hate the gunk solution.
Is there a temporary spare wheel/tyre that would fit the ND AND fit in the boot? That would be a better emergency solution for use on solo joy rides in country Victoria. Having had three punctures in three years I am getting paranoid.

Reverse camera in a 5? Totally redundant. Just turn your head. It's a tiny convertible car!

I can't easily turn head or waist. Have to put roof down for better visibility to put ND back in the showroom at the end of each day.

I'll try my NB slimline tomorrow. Not hopeful.

Next question: When you put the spare on, where do you put the wheel you have just taken off?

Reckon that would be somewhere hidden until you return for it.

Or just get an NB as you can fit four spare wheels and tyres in one of them.

Agree with green machine. No point finding a tiny spare if you can't fit the real one in anyway.
