Yep, it's definitely going that way. Hard to find a new BMW anything these days that doesn't have auto as standard. I think they even suggest that a manual "M" car will soon be a thing of the past...

Yeah even the new r35 nissan gtr is auto with paddle shift

Thanks to all who replied for your positive comments. I will definitely start my search for my NC auto.

Thanks also to SLO_NA for mentioning the GT-R.
One of my favourite Youtube videos is from Nissan Australia of Michael Caruso making his way around
Bathurst in a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3. Some serious auto action there.

I don't for one minute imagine that that is me in my NC auto.....(but thinks to self.. gosh I would love a GT-R)

Thanks again

The GT-R, as do many cars (starting with the Mark V Golf) nowadays, actually runs a Dual Clutch Transmission which is kind of an automated manual - it's way more complicated than that...

Stepped up to dream car - Mustang GT convertible- all softops are automatic in Oz. Don't miss manual NC at all.
Gotta say the manual was a smooth operator and rarely, even in city traffic did I curse having a manual.

Driving a 2017 car I now need an auto to manage all the technical gadgetry on that giant screen.

With an auto Vert now, reckon your NC roadster is still a real sports car.

I reckon the auto in an NC is a real consideration. Members will remember the posts about NCs bombing in value well one thing that's pretty clear is that low klm late model NC auto's are thin on the ground and bringing high dollars . You can buy late model 86 low klm and later models more easily- but they are not the same with a tin top. I doubt whether a manual Mustang would be easy to live with either - the same goes for the local Fords and Holdens - why get a 1750KG car which is big and then row it around with a manual transmission.
