Tks Spikey, being an R Limited (1000 built) would explain the wooden gear knob & handbrake grip.

Re: RS Limited NA8 for sale
Spikey, no need to explain anything, your comment that it's an R Limited as opposed to an RS Limited was explanation enough.

Re: RS Limited NA8 for sale
so the obvious thing is that a cars credentials should be checked out. I seem to remember that Mazda can identify an Au car by the VIN.

It's a JDM not ADM vehicle.

Re: RS Limited NA8 for sale
Does that mean then that a vehicle can be more readily passed off as something it is not- i.e. access to VIN data on JDM? With certain other vehicles such as GT Falcons people get dudded buying high cost vehicles that are not the full quid- its apparently very tricky being able to verify early GT's .

Re: RS Limited NA8 for sale
As Spikey is a previous owner of the R Limited, I'd be confident he did his due diligence.
However, speaking more generally, as many MX5 limited editions are simply cosmetic, replicas are always possible unless you can get confirmation from Mazda regarding VIN as we can for the Clubman. Vehicle information stickers on the driver's door jam also show useful info & can be checked to contribute to confirmation.
