Re: General ND chat
Just needs the new CX-9 turbo motor plus stronger or bigger or heavier brakes, suspension etc. Move the battery and anything else possible to the boot to try to keep the same weight distribution as the 1009kg ones.
Less nimble, less balanced, even less boot, but more powaaah.

UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Re: General ND chat
Doesn't need the CX9 motor.
Just put a low pressure hairdryer on the 1.5L and increase the torque by 50%. That the the already high revving 1.5L will be enough power. Use the 2.0L brakes.

Re: General ND chat
That would indeed be nice.
There are pics around of such a plan in Americaland, where they have enough of a (after)market to make the R&D worthwhile,

Got a link to the video? I searched for it but couldn't find it anywhere.

I don't think it needs a turbo; part of the fun is the instant response from the throttle. I'd rather see a higher revving version of the 2.0L installed (or even the a variant of the 2.5 in NA form)

It's on the facebook page for Xitan https://www.facebook.com/Xitan-Racing-2 ... 5/?fref=nf
He's much quicker than me by the look of things. I did a 1.49 at winton in my 1.5L, first time on the track in that car, and have got a little more time I can make up safely.

Re: General ND chat
I test drove both for quite a while. My head said 2.0. My heart said 1.5. I find the 1.5 more fun to drive and don't regret buying it.
Plus it's much more fun at track days seeing the reaction on people's faces when they realise the car chasing them is a stock 1.5 not a worked 2.0. Just need to find some decent brake pads

Hi Peter,
It all depends on a contract I'm chasing. Until it's signed and sealed its still for sale.

I've ordered some Dixcel Z Type for mine. I'll post back how they go. I didn't find the stock pads great on the track as they got inconsistent in feel.

Re: General ND chat
Goodwin reporting 180 whp after OVTune with their new long headers on the 2.0L, combined with the massive jump in torque as well it will be an awesome upgrade to those with the 2L. Although it sounds like it will require a lot of work to install http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=610631

Need to be careful comparing the figures though.
Goodwin = Wheel horsepower
BBR = Flywheel horsepower
So not directly comparable......
While indications are that the ND has a remarkably efficient drivetrtain you are still looking at reducing the BBR figure by ~10% to make the numbers comparable.
