I quite like it, and I think the engine range is better. We know from the Turbo NBs that starting with a turbo can be very fruitful from a modding perspective. Let's see how it prices.

A friend has an Arbath Race car and that 1.4 turbo motor is producing 200hp.

I'm a Fiat fan (had an Abarth) but the 124 is just not right, it just looks wrong.

I wonder how easy it is for an engine swap. Abarth 124 engine in the MX5 body. And those tan leather seats. :D

In the event that I feel moved (down the track) to replace the NB, it would be the 124 (or something else) but not an ND as I think they are ugly.
I would want to have been assured however, that the 124 had the same quality and reliability as an MX5.

Looked at several pics of the Fiat and reckon it's better than the ND from every angle.
The ND reminds me of my NC - something about it's not right. My NB was eye candy any way I admired it.

Worried about that legendary "Fix It Again Tony" reliability and dealer back up. In and out of Australia quicker than a hot flight attendant.

Gotta give the NC that - Swiss watch runs like my car.

Overall I think it is alright. The front grills really don't match any other part of the car. The front it the most important styling point of any car.

I like the look of the FIAT and feel it is nicely separated from the MX5 styling wise. I agree - there is something not quite right about the Mazda which pains me to say because I have been a fan since the original NA. Having a turbo engine is another appealing point of difference and it also looks like the FIAT has a better colour range. Very disappointed in the MX5 re colours. However, FIAT's problem will be the dealer network, mechanical reliability and spare parts availability and it will need to be affordably priced. At least it is built on the Mazda assembly line. I'm hoping it proves to be reliable so we get a bit of competition out there. And speaking of competition, the performance comparison should be fascinating.

Could it be as simple as just swapping the panels and light clusters?
There may be some issues around Headlight wiring, parking sensors and the like but would probably be cheaper/ simpler than and engine, ECU and loom swap.

You would have to go the whole hog on the swap. Though I prefer the rear of the fiat it definitely would not work with the front of the ND or vice versa.
