Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Installed temporary window toggle switches. Received momentary toggle switches to replace them, once I program my Arduino to control it all...

Used with Arduino's much? I'd love to find the time to play with one.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I've only just started playing with it. The most constructive thing I've done so far is make LEDs flash
I'm trying to recreate the NB/NC style electric windows, where you just give the button a quick flick and it sends the window all the way down. The way I'm looking at it, I'll have to have 8 inputs and 4 outputs. It's going to be a busy arduino!

That's about as far as I ever got, haha. Actually, I played with some servo motors as well. Now mine is sitting in a drawer gathering dust. Not such a busy Arduino.

Hmm not sure where to put this so here goes.
Got my aircon regassed at Evolution R (Bentley). If you're in Perth mention the Perth-WRX special or mention the red turbo mx5 and Mao should regas it for $80.
Made a huge difference. During some spirited driving last week, the cabin started heating up and the aircon did nothing! Pretty sure this is the first regas since the factory 8 years ago.
The Mazda dealer where I got my car from Perth has also confirmed a price for a programmed, spare key. 2 x cartons of Stella ! Woo!

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Yesterday I pulled off the midpipe and my treasured Trust muffler to swap to another midpipe and Mazdaspeed muffler. Only doing this because the midpipe I had made up when I had it on the NA6 hits against the NA8 bracing. Got as far as fitting up the bits but it appears this other midpipe won't join up properly to the Mazspeed, and I'm not sure it was actually used with that muffler grrrrr...
So today had to put the Trust gear back on and refresh my dodgy wire-that-pushes-midpipe-off-bracing.
In better news I found the source of an engine bay vibration and fixed, and potentially fixed a coolant leak.

Fitted a fire extinguisher on Wednesday, only lightly grazed my knuckles with an angle grinder .

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Well this week I've uncovered it, washed it a bit, shaken the floor mats, paid for 6mths rego, charged the battery, pumped up the tyres a bit, started it and dríven it for the first time in 6 mths, changed oil and filter and been driving it for 3 days now. Today I've needed to replace right rear blinker globe. Warmer weather is here and I am back home not up north or west with the 'van so it's time for freedom.

Nah being the only non turbo there I wouldn't be surprised if I was the slowest, at one stage I tried to catch that TMR Evo X but I had no chance.
