Interesting to note that the American release video host did not utter the word Miata at all, only mx5 and roadster.
Thats some pretty hardcore rebranding haha.

Re: ND debuts tomorrow 3rd Sep
I popped into South City Mazda this morning to pick up some parts for my 2007 Mazda 3 and took the time to check out the interiors of the new 3 and 6. The new MX5 borrows heavily from them which is probably a good thing since it will make these parts cheaper but I would have loved a "unique roadster version" instead - I always loved the 300ZX interrior which made you feel like you were in the cockpit of an aircraft when driving since the centre tunnel was quite high.
The new Mazda 6 looks great with the gaping mouth since it's a larger car so doesn't get over-powered by it and the proportions really look good.
The new Mazda 3 looks too front-heavy, its too long and the gaping mouth looks way too big.
I think that the ND's mouth looks too big in photos and expect it to look bigger in real life, especially since it's a much smaller car than the 3.
The aftermarket bumper manufacturers are probably feverishly at work right now to address this.

Have a look at any MX-5 imported from Japan, and you will see the "Roadster" badge.
Ah, makes sense, thanks David

what the bmw z4 + a hint of aston martin from the rear/side view? Not too sure on how i feel about the headlights but overall i definitely like the look of it, certainly an improvement aesthetically from the NC.

LOL - I never even bothered to check out the Mazda 2s which are closer to the internal dimensions of the MX5. It almost makes me sad that the interior of the MX5 now looks exactly like the bottom of the range Mazda 2

Hooray! Where it should be. That white/silver looks hawwt!
Also noticed the Sky News controller is set lower, and the central binnacle sits flush too (cannot rest left arm).
Most crucial question is where are the cupholders?

Still think a modern equivalent of mariner blue would look incredible;

The cup holders from this angle, I can't figure out how they fold away. Is where they are a clip on location?

Re: ND debuts tomorrow 3rd Sep
I think in one of the multitude of articles I've read over the last 24 hours about the new car it said they can be removed ?
It made a point of saying they can be removed and placed in the boot when you want to get into some serious driving or something along those lines.
