I do recall when I did my work experience years ago at a dealership an old Landcruiser came in with about 700,000 on the clock.
it just needed the turbo rebuilt, engine was fine.
And I agree about them being slow and heavy.
A friend has an old Troopcarrier, non-turbo diesel.
It is easily the slowest and most lumbering vehicle I have ever dríven, i'm not sure if his is particularly tired, or if it's normal for them, but I'm shocked they ever managed to do anything offroad if his is a normal example.
A moderate uphill slope, one that my partner's 626 does in 3rd, and can easily do in 2nd, required the landcruiser to be stopped and put into low range to even move....
