Thanks for the replies guys
So pulled off chrome brackets and the rubbers were still intacted although broke in half when I lifted the chrome bracket off. Poor some water over it with the chrome bracket in place and also poured about half litre around the rain rail and couldn’t see any water come into the boot. So I’m still at a loss.
