Rocky, to try to stop the spread, using a small glass cutter scribe a 5mm long line perpendicular to, but about 15mm or so from, the end/s of the crack.

Rocky wrote:Spoke with O'Briens this week who advised that they just ordered an OE screen from Mazda and it would be sent from Japan.
Also said they were organising an OE rubber surround.
Expected time for the screen to arrive is about 6 weeks so hopefully sometime in Feb 2016.
Took the car for a run this week and marked where the crack ended before and after the drive.
Grew about 10mm. If it keeps going in it's current direction, by February it will pass across in front of me just under my line of vision.

P.S. Pulled all the little round & oval plastic 'grommetts' out - only broke one 'leg' on one of the bigger oval ones.

Drill a 2mm hole in the glass just where the crack ends its easy with a diamond drill .O Brians may even do it for you ??

The Police avoid making eye contact with Rocky as he is such an attractive man (thus won't notice his spreading crack)...

who is O Brian? If Rocky can get Shannon's to pay for an OEM screen regardless of what it costs then that is a really good thing.

Great news. I'll be getting genuine as well then.

Thanks Bruce, I was so inspired by your advice that I went out into the back yard and burned all my Jocks.

Actually they avoid eye contact with me because they are fixated by my Crystal Blue 'Hairdresser's car'. They figure that anyone with hair like mine can't possibly be a Hairdresser, and so I must have stolen it.

MM - they used to be 'Windscreens O'Brien' but now call themselves 'O'Brien Glass' or just 'O'Brien'. I have been with Shannons for 15 yrs and never had a screen or a claim, so they probably figure they owe me a good Screen.

Windscreens O'Brien
One of the largest mobile windscreen businesses in the country.

There the ones you've likely seen driving around in the yellow and blue vans.

From memory they've expanded into household glass/tinting etc, hence the removal of "windscreens" in the name,
1999 Mazda MX5 - 1989 Honda CT110 (for sale) - 1994 Mazda 626 wagon (GF's)
