Sign me up for ND Wheels !

Postby Daz » Tue Nov 03, 2015 9:45 pm

I have been looking for new 17x7 road wheels for the SP and the choices are pretty dismal.

A pic of an ND caught my eye and I noticed they are back to 4 stud wheels ! Then I looked at the 17" option coming on the 2.0 and I like them. Does anyone know if they will be 4x100 and the same offset to fit earlier cars ? I like them a lot, If anyone has ordered this car and doesnt like them, I am a buyer !

Yes they are 4x100 and will fit. Similar offsets to before, which means that it won't be a very aggressive one at all for a NB.

I think the offset will be around 50 -55mm so not really suitable without spacing the wheel. Around 25 to 40 is probably more the desired range.

There we go;

17x7 +45. Stock on the SP was 16x6.5 +42 I think, so you are essentially sitting the same as stock (couple of mm extra poke).

Stock is 16x6.5 +40, so you're close Josh..... :wink:

For reference, the SE was released with 17" wheels ex-factory.
These are 17x7 +40 and in order to prevent rubbing the SE has a reduced turning radius (compared to other NB's) in the steering rack.

So to fit the ND rims on a SP you would probably need to use a spacer, 10mm to be safe.
You would also need to replace the tyres as the ND has a larger rolling diameter which would further increase the likelihood of rubbing.
ND = 205/45-17
SE = 205/40-17

If you still wanted to pursue this then there was someone posting on the facebook page that they are offering up their brand new (not delivered) ND 17" rims for $2000.

You don't like them ? I figure they will probably be reasonably light since the whole car is light and they look ok to me !

I probably still have a set of your wheels around here somewhere, or was it you that bought them from me :D

Nice wheels. When they fix the headlights up on the next styling revision it will look good.
