Shipping recommendations to BNE

Postby madkeen » Mon Jan 12, 2015 5:02 pm

Hi. Im thinking of buying some heavy parts like wheels and inevitably they will be in the wrong state. Any hot tips the best shipping companies to opt for - looking for a good balance of service and price. I'm thinking Melbourne to Brisbane, or Sydney to Brisbane.
Thanks!

For wheels and stuff that is near impossible to break, yeah e-go, otherwise a decent courier.

I sent a bonnet, front guards and bootlid from Brisbane to Adelaide by pack and send, $600 with insurance and all I did was drop them off at the office, they packed them and shipped them, as they are being used as moulds for panels, it was something e-go wasn't being trusted with.

Another option I used once was Greyhound Freight and they were surprisingly affordable.
You often see buses on the Highways with a large white trailer being towed. Well that's where they carry all the goods.
I sent 4 x 22 inch wheels & tyres from Melb to NT for $280 and they were big wheels.
The catch is you need to drop off the goods at one of their depot and somebody needs to collect their goods at a depot when it arrives at the other end.
But I believe they'll transport a variety of different goods including auto parts and also the delivery times aren't too bad either.
Plus you can also track your goods if you prefer.
It all has to do with how busy they are and pre booked stuff etc etc.

Worth getting a quote if its convenient for both the seller as well as the buyer of the goods regarding the picking up & dropping off at the depots.
