Phyiscally yes.

But it may not run well, and there's no point.

The ECU expects the signal from the standard sensor, being on/off.
Just adding a sensor with a different output (ie: variable) won't mean the ECU can understand it.

More information means nothing if it can't be understood.
I could buy an encyclopedia set, and have a world of information here. But if the set is in Chinese it's not worth a thing because I can't understand it.

Aftermarket ECUs work with these sensors since you can, metaphorically, teach them how to understand chinese.

Just out of curiosity what were you hoping to gain by installing a variable tps on the stock ecu?

Am going to do a very low boost(4PSI) set up and later when funds are raised will go ecu etc. I have wrx turbo and up pipe, am about to pick up exhaust to make a log manifold to suit,also have rx7 top mount lntercooler to fit somewhere,have turbo rx7 injecters as well some where. but dont think stock ecu will run them. big learning curve. Have done this style of turbo ont a 1600 VW a few years back and it went like stink for 2 weeks till a very tired bigend started knocking HA HA.

Hi shipy59
I have a BMW TPS and stock one to do the conversion. As soon as I get time will put it on the for sale site with other bits and pieces I no longer need including a 420E ecu. Running Rotrex with stock computer and now quite happy not to chase max horsepower. It hits 5psi flat out and computer can handle it. (Supra injectors, fuel regulator and high pressure pump.)
NB SE, NA 1.8.

Have no idea what a 420E or rotrex is?

420E = previous generation of Adaptronic ECU
Rotrex = Supercharger :mrgreen:

A lot of VTPS do have switches and variable resistors in them, so with the four wires they have the switch on/off for the closed and fully open, as well - so with one of them and enough patience to figure it all out you could make them work with the stock ECU
