Introducing my car and I

Postby Zej » Tue Dec 17, 2013 6:13 pm

After lurking around on the board for a few weeks, gleaning pre-purchase information, I took delivery of a 2002 MX5 NB8B in black last week, following the unfortunate demise of my Jaguar XJR.

Been looking for a cheap, but well looked after NB for a few weeks before deciding on this one with 147'000kms. First 4-cylinder car ($150 p/w on fuel is not funny anymore...), first Japanese car - I've always been a bit of a Europhile, mostly with BMW's, Jaguar's, Range-Rovers and the odd dabbling in Peugeots. Apart from the indicator stalk on the wrong side, I've not been disappointed. She even starts every morning without fail

Thought I'd post a picture up of my new daily driver the day I picked it up and drove top-down to Rye and back as an initial bonding session.
She's completely original (that was one of my purchase requirements), apart from a Voodoo gear knob to replace the original worn leather item, and now runs 4 new Toyo Proxes T1R's.

Zej,
It has often been said that Jaguar owners only have two good days in their lives, the day they buy one and the day that they see it gone.
Welcome to the family, get used to smiling more often and spending more on sunscreen.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Welcome & congrats on the very tidy looking purchase.
Had Alfas, Lotus & other stuff prior to three MX5 NAs, & the reliability & fun factor of the MX5 is amazing!
